The basis of each customer relationship at HighMark Funds is trust. You have chosen to do business with HighMark Funds and we guard that relationship with great care, beginning with the information you have chosen to share with us. We maintain information about you in order to provide you with the most effective and convenient access to our broad range of financial products and services. We want you to understand what information we collect about you, and how we use and protect it. As you know, HighMark Funds are managed by HighMark Capital Management, Inc., (HighMark) a SEC registered investment adviser that is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Union Bank, N.A. (Union Bank). In addition, HighMark Funds have contracted with Boston Financial Data Services,(Boston Financial), a transfer agent registered with the SEC, to assist you with servicing your account, including processing your purchase, redemption and exchange requests.

On the following pages, we have outlined the types of information that HighMark Funds (the Funds) collect about you and how that information is used or shared. This policy applies to all shareholders of the Funds, whether you buy through your financial adviser or directly from the Funds, and to the Funds’ former shareholders It is important for you to know that the Funds, as well as any other companies with which the Funds work, will not sell your personal information to anyone.
How We Collect Information About You
We may collect the following types of personal information about you from the following sources in order to understand your needs, offer you products and services, process your transactions, and administer our business.
  • Application and registration information. When you apply for or open a new account, through the Funds’ transfer agent, your information is collected. The information collected may include personal information such as your name, address, phone number, email address, Social Security number and date of birth.
  • Transactional and experience information. Once your account is opened, we gather and maintain personal information about your account activity, including your transactions and balances. This information allows us to effectively administer your account and meet the quality of service you have requested.
  • Outside agency information sources. We may receive information about you from information services and consumer reporting agencies. This information may be used to verify your identity or creditworthiness.
Web Site Applications
When using the Funds’ Web site, the systems may enlist devices known as “cookies,” or other similar web tools to enhance your web experience. These tools enable us to better recognize you when you return to the site, maintain your web session while you browse, and provide you with a better, more personalized investing experience. Maintaining Your Trust and Protecting Your Information
We take precautions to ensure the information we collect about you is protected and is accessed only by those authorized to do so. Companies the Funds may use to provide support services are not allowed to use information about our customers for their own purposes and are contractually obligated to keep such information confidential. The information we share with them is limited to the performance of the specific services we have requested. Employees are trained on privacy and information security requirements and are required to safeguard all personal information. We apply and maintain physical, electronic as well as procedural safeguards to protect your personal information.
Sharing Your Information With Other Parties
As noted above, the Funds work with third parties to administer your mutual fund account. We disclose information about you as necessary to third party service providers in order to effectively administer your account. The confidentiality of your nonpublic personal information will continue to be maintained as described in this privacy statement even if you decide to close your accounts(s), your account becomes inactive or you otherwise cease to do business with us.

In order to better support your financial needs and under limited circumstances, we do share some or all of your information with outside third parties. Some examples are:
  • To help us process transactions for your account or complete services you have requested.
  • To the Funds’ transfer agent, Boston Financial, that assists us in servicing or maintaining your mutual fund account or other service providers that print redemption and distribution checks or provide periodic account statements.
  • To governmental entities, such as the IRS when sending annual income statements (e.g., Form 1099s)
  • When we believe that disclosure is required or permitted under law to cooperate with regulatory or law enforcement agencies, to resolve consumer disputes or to finalize credit/authentication checks or other risk control processes.
  • As permitted by law (for example, when necessary or helpful in processing or confirming your transactions; to verify the existence, history, and condition of your account for credit reporting agencies; and to protect against unauthorized transactions)
State Laws
You may have other privacy protections under state laws, such as Vermont’s or California’s. For example, if your address is in Vermont, we will automatically limit information sharing.

The following notice is required to be made under Nevada law to all customers with a Nevada mailing address. At any time, you may request to be placed on our internal “Do Not Call” list. Online Privacy & Security Policy
HighMark Funds and our affiliates, along with our service providers (we and us), value your trust and respect your expectation of privacy. As such, we are committed to maintaining the confidentiality of your personal information and protect your privacy when you do business online. We work towards ensuring that all financial transactions, data transmissions and communications are completed in a secure, online environment.
Visitors to the HighMark Funds' Web Site
Visitors to our Web site remain anonymous, unless they register for a service or otherwise elect to disclose their identity to us. Clients who choose to register for online access to their accounts will be asked to supply personal information to verify their identity. This information will be collected on a secure server and may include items such as account number, Social Security Number or Tax Identification Number (TIN) and zip code. Collecting this information allows us to provide access only to authorized users and clients. A unique login ID and password that you create are used to protect your account information.
Investment Professionals
Our Web site provides comprehensive information about our mutual funds and products. Investment Professionals, such as financial advisors and registered investment professionals, may need additional product information and specific tools and we encourage them to register on our web site. We collect only the information necessary to interact with investment professionals, and that includes their names, companies, addresses and e-mail addresses. This information allows us to identify you so that we can present you with Investment Professional approved content and tools.
Online Account Access Security
Shareholders can securely access information and perform transactions online using the Online Account Access area. HighMark Funds and its service providers employ numerous techniques to ensure the security of your account information. Registering for any Account Access area is necessary prior to use as Account Access is not automatically added to your account. You must first complete the online registration form and create unique USER ID and password to use when accessing your account. It is important to safeguard this password at all times and you should never share your password with anyone. We will protect your account information by placing it on a secure area of our website. Our systems use 128-bit Internet data encryption technology, personalized passwords and other precautions. It is our policy to restrict access to your non-public personal information to only those employees who need to know that information in order to assist you with your needs. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect your non-public personal information from unauthorized third party use. For your security, Online Account Access area will time you out after 15 minutes of inactivity, and you will need to log in with a valid login ID and password in order to regain access to your account.

Security Checklist
We provide this checklist to help safeguard your personal information, your accounts with HighMark Funds and others, and your computer.

Protect your personal information
  • Do not provide personal information over the phone, by mail or via the Internet unless you trust the source.
  • Be suspicious of e-mail requests for financial information. Reputable firms never ask for financial information via e-mail.
  • Look for the lock icon on your browser’s status bar when shopping online. Also check for a secure url, such as https.
Protect your passwords and PINs
  • Never share your passwords or PINs.
  • Choose a password you can remember without having to write it down.
  • Use a combination of numbers, letters and special characters (if allowed) for your passwords.
  • Use a mix of capital and lowercase letters if passwords are case sensitive.
  • Change your passwords and PINs at least twice a year.
Install protective software
  • Download software only from sites you know and trust.
  • Install and keep your anti-virus software up to date.
  • Set your anti-virus software to automatically scan attachments, or else scan them manually before opening them.
